New Barn Quilts for The BarnQuiltStore!

Last week was an unusually rainy and dreary week here in Georgia.
I took advantage of the weather and spent some quality time in my workshop painting barn quilts!

I've photographed each barn quilt 2 ways so you could see how it looks hung on point or hung square.

Amazing how different they look, isn't it??!!

Each of these barn quilts are going to be for sale on my website, The BarnQuiltStore, as soon as I get a chance to load them.

Spring is just around the corner....bet you could you find a place at your home to hang a barn quilt!
How about on your garden shed, porch, or maybe even over your garage door??
They're so fun and colorful adding that special 'something' to your outdoor decor!!

Remember.....they aren't just for barns anymore!!!!

Keep watching, I have several more new patterns in the works!!

Sunbonnet Sue & Drunkard's Path Barn Quilts

I recently completed these 2 custom barn quilts for a customer in Alabama.

For the Sunbonnet Sue, I used both paint & fabric as mediums.
This pattern is a favorite of my customer's mother.
In order to get the 'look' I wanted, I painted her hands & shoes and used fabric for the rest of her outfit & the flowers.
Isn't Sue a cutie?!

The Drunkard's Path Pattern was a favorite of her Grandmother's.
I needed to do some drawing on my computer to make this as it's not the normal straight line pattern I'm used to painting.

I'm hoping my customer sends a photo of these 2 quilts when she hangs them on her barn!
Can't wait to see them!

Painting more barn quilts is my goal for 2013...one I'll enjoy!!!

Another New Barn Quilt in Adairsville, GA!

I'm proud to say there is another Barn Quilt in the Adairsville, GA area!
The Canine Cottage is showing off one of my favorite patterns, the American Star.
If you visit this part of Georgia, you can find this barn quilt about 1 mile south of Adairsville on GA US Hwy 41.
Dana and her crew run a wonderful dog grooming business there as well as a small kennel.
Both of my 'boys' stayed there when my husband & I were out of town and they also are groomed by Dana on a regular basis.  I wouldn't take them anywhere else!

It's such an honor to see barn quilts that I have painted displayed!

Happy New Year, everyone!!!

Iowa Barn Quilts

I spent several weeks in Iowa this December visiting family.
While I was there, I saw some wonderful barn quilts!
I had planned on taking the Barn Quilt Trail in Grundy County but time didn't allow it this trip.
Fortunately, the Iowa countryside is decorated with Barn Quilts so I did get to take a few photos.
I love living in Georgia, but my heart will always call Iowa home!
This last picture was taken at my brother's home place.  My sister-in-law painted the Grandmother's Fan Pattern and my nephew built the frame.  Love that old building!

A special thanks to all of you that bought your Christmas gifts from my online shop, The BarnQuiltStore!  This was our first holiday season and, thanks to you, it was a huge success!

Merry Christmas from the BarnQuiltStore!

I realize I've been MIA since early November.
Life for our family has been unusually hectic since then.
Travel, illness, death, & life in general have all played a role.
We're looking forward to 2013 and hopefully a quieter, more peaceful time again.

Blessings to all my blogging friends for a Merry Christmas!

Sherry

P.S. I took this photo while visiting in Iowa with my family.
The barn quilts there are stunning!!!

A New Place to Shop Online, FarmMade!

Thanks to Deborah Jean at Deborah Jean's Dandelion House, I've found a new online shop to sell my barn quilts!
It's called FarmMade & it's a virtual online market place for farmers, rural, suburban, city and urban folks to shop!
Set up similar to Etsy, the shop is easy to navigate & simply delightful!

Stop by the BarnQuiltStore at FarmMade & see the new barn quilts I've painted.
It's a fun place to shop!

Cha..Cha..Cha...Changes!!!!

The name of my blog is changing!!!
It's now The BarnQuiltStore by Ties2ThePast.
The change has come about with the opening of my new website for my new web shop, The BarnQuiltStore.

I've also started The BarnQuiltStore Facebook page (please stop by & like it!!) & it's easier when everything has the same name.
Eventually, I'll change the names of my eBay Store & my Etsy shop but, for now, they'll stay open as Ties2ThePast.

I had my first BIG order today!
A wonderful businessman in Tennessee ordered six of my barn quilts for his offices!!!!
I am T.H.R.I.L.L.E.D.!!!!!!!!!

Now, I need to get painting!
Maybe I can borrow some of Santa's helpers before they get too busy!!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
If you need me, I'll be up to my elbows in PAINT!!
WOOHOO!!
